Alpinair was contracted to address the failing and underperforming factory-fitted air conditioning system in a Renault Master social welfare vehicle. The client required a robust, custom-fit climate control solution that would guarantee a stable, comfortable, and reliable internal environment for its vulnerable passengers. Our team designed and installed a bespoke, high-performance system to meet the unique demands of this essential community transport vehicle.
The Challenge
The client operates a vital social welfare vehicle for community transport. The comfort and safety of their passengers, many of whom are vulnerable or have mobility needs, are paramount. The vehicle’s original air conditioning system was not only underperforming but also highly unreliable, creating an inconsistent and uncomfortable internal environment. This posed a significant risk to passenger welfare and could lead to vehicle downtime, severely impacting the client’s essential service delivery.

Our experienced team conducted a full assessment of the Renault Master’s specific layout, which included specialist seating and accessibility features. We identified that the existing system was inadequate for the demands of continuous welfare transport and designed a new, high-performance solution.
The project involved a full-scale replacement and bespoke installation:
Complete System Replacement: We fully decommissioned and removed all components of the faulty factory system, from the compressor to the ducting.
Customised Installation: Our engineers installed a more powerful, high-capacity air conditioning system tailored to the vehicle’s volume. This included a new, high-efficiency condenser and a powerful evaporator unit to ensure rapid and consistent cooling throughout the cabin.
Optimised Air Distribution: We designed and integrated new ducting to deliver an evenly distributed flow of conditioned air, eliminating hot spots and ensuring a comfortable temperature for all passengers, regardless of where they are seated.
Seamless Integration: All new equipment was installed discreetly to integrate with the vehicle’s interior and electrical systems, without compromising on space or the functionality of existing welfare features like ramps and specialist seating.
The Outcome
The upgraded Renault Master now benefits from a highly effective and reliable climate control system. The custom-fit solution guarantees a consistent and comfortable internal temperature, which is essential for passenger welfare and dignity. The reliability of the new system has eliminated the risk of service disruption due to AC failure, giving our client complete peace of mind.
